Joining the Band

Do you have more information on the concerts at St. Andrew’s United Church?

Our home base is located at St. Andrew’s United Church on Upper Paradise Road. There is a parking lot at the front and the back of the church.

Tickets are cash only, paid for at the door.

How about the shows at Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre?

We also play annually at the Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre, due to popular demand!

There is a parking lot at the venue, as well as street parking.

Tickets can be purchased via the Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre website, HERE. They sell out so be sure to purchase when they are available!

What should I wear?

We have both evening and afternoon concerts. Evening concerts are a great chance to get a little dressed up—but only if you want!

Afternoon matinees are a bit more casual.

How long are concerts?

Most concerts run 1.5-2 hours with a 15-20 minute intermission.

When should I arrive?

About 10 minutes before the concert for St. Andrew’s is fine. For Ancaster shows, we recommend a bit earlier to make sure you get parking and can get to the venue, get a drink beforehand, etc!

When do I applaud?

The conductor (the fun guy who stands at the front) will lower his hands when a song is complete. Then, you can clap! Some songs are made of multiple movements or have long dramatic pauses—be careful of those!

Can I bring children?

Yes! We have special prices for children attendees.

How do I join the band?

Please fill out our form at the top of the website under the ‘join’ link. Someone will get back to you regarding space in the band or if the instrument section has a waitlist. We do not have auditions—we are a friendly fun community band!

Where do rehearsals take place?

At St. Andrew’s United Church at 479 Upper Paradise Road. We practice once a week.

Is there a cost to play with the band?

We kindly ask our members to make an annual donation of $100 to join the band to help cover our expenses.
